Funding for Treatment
Funding for Treatment Outside Wisconsin
Funding for treatment varies across the country and the world. In the United States, some states offer assistance through community based waiver programs, others do not. Some insurance companies will pay for portions of treatment, although our experience has been that most insurance does not cover the cost of treatment. Many families can assess their funding options by contacting their county and state Department of Health and Human Services or Department of Family Services to inquire about autism treatment.
In some cases, no funding is available through government agencies. In these cases, families often choose to work with local school districts to fund treatment programs as their children's educational needs dictate. It may also be helpful to contact local disability organizations and service agencies to inquire about funding assistance. Many families fund their programs solely with their own private funds, and some plan and host their own fundraising events to cover costs for therapy. We have experience in working with a variety of funding sources and are willing to work with whatever funding source you may have available for your child. We are happy to provide ideas for funding that have worked for other families, as well.
